Anti-racism in the Outdoors Resource Guide

The history and impact of racial disparities in parks and greenspaces has typically received little attention in American public life. This resource guide is for faculty, staff, students, extension educators, outdoor advocates, volunteers and community leaders as allies of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the outdoors.

In a nutshell, this resource offers:

• Books, articles, podcasts, presentations, affinity group lists, and trainings to incorporate DEI and anti-racism practices for professionals working in greenspaces.
• Opportunities and suggestions for taking action for anti-racism.

How to use this resource:

• As a starting point to understand pervasive racial discrimination and disparities in greenspaces, both urban and rural.
• Resources to justify or direct DEI or anti-racism initiatives in your organization or professional actions.
