A wall-to-wall map of New York City's trees at the genus level, including an additional 1.4 million trees on private property and other land uses that aren’t in NYC Parks’ inventory.
The approach combines PlanetScope satellite time series (which let us track phenological features like when individual crowns leaf out and senesce), lidar, crown canopy polygons from the Nature Conservancy and University of Vermont, and the Forestry Tree Points database from NYC Parks. Overall accuracy is 82%, and higher for the city's most common trees.
