Alamo Area Climate Plan

Prev Next

The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), in conjunction with the City of San Antonio (COSA), prepared the Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP), referred to as the Alamo Area Climate Plan, for its 13-county service area. This plan is not a mandate or regulatory requirement. Rather, it is a set of practical, flexible strategies that Alamo Area communities can use to identify pathways toward improved health, greater resilience, and long-term economic competitiveness.

The plan is designed to support informed decision-making by offering options that reflect local priorities, capacities, and conditions. By advancing cleaner energy, healthier air, and climate-smart investments, these strategies help communities reduce risks, strengthen resilience to future challenges, and position themselves to compete for funding, jobs, and innovation in a changing economy.

The Alamo Area Climate Plan is the culmination of an approximately 18-month process that involved working across multiple levels of government, gathering meaningful community input, and conducting additional stakeholder outreach.
