# Mapping

Mapping is a crucial step in the care of urban forested natural areas because understanding the quantity, quality, and location of forested natural areas allows for better management, advocacy and accessibility. Making informed decisions on how to conserve, sustainably manage, and restore forested natural areas requires an understanding of their total extent and landscape context.
