# Fort Worth Open Space Tool

As an effort between the City of Fort Worth and the Trust for Public Land, this [online mapping tool](https://gisapps.fortworthtexas.gov/openspacetool/?dlg=Window-2&views=View-10) was created as a part of the creation of the [Fort Worth Open Space Conservation Program Strategy Report](https://www.fortworthtexas.gov/files/assets/public/v/2/parks-and-recreation/documents/open-spaces/Fort-Worth-Open-Space-Strategy-Report.pdf). The tool uses a data-driven approach to prioritize areas for conservation.

The data collected for each of seven goal areas were combined in the open space mapping tool, which identifies potential priority conservation areas. The map does not change zoning or land use, and does not commit the City or landowners to acquisitions. It is used as a starting point when evaluating land for conservation.
